Frank Sinatra - You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You (Swing Along With Me)

Writer(s): Morgan/Stock/Cavanaugh

You're nobody till somebody loves you
You're nobody till somebody cares
You might be king, you might possess, the world and its gold
But gold won't bring you happiness, when you're growing old

The world still is the same
You'll never change it
As sure as the stars shine above
You're nobody till somebody loves you
So find yourself somebody to love

You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You (03:28)
I'm back at it with this absolutely stunning arrangement of BOBBY DARIN'S take on this timeless
classic! With Frank and Dean's etched into everyone's heads I hope this is refreshing and bold!
Darin had the most amazing way of building up a song...this arrangement is exactly that. It goes
from ballad to one heck of a POW factor! Please do enjoy my friends!! Also I reccomend you seek out
Darin's take :) Please do! Your pal, Alex HIGH DEF LINK- www.youtube.com

@shadybunnz Well said shady. Sinatra shows excellent breath control here as well as wonderful phrasing. I'm guessing that had he studied, he could have sung arias. Nevertheless, his rendition of RIVER here, is one of the best by any singer taht I ever heard, period!

@hajune: Oscar Hammerstein wrote the lyrics to "Ol' Man River" (Jerome Kern wrote the music), and neither is an African American. Hammerstein also wrote the lyrics to "I Enjoy Being a Girl" and he's not a girl, but it's not stupid, bigoted or narrow minded to say that watching Sinatra in his tux sing "Ol' Man River" is as incongruous as watching him sing "I Enjoy Being a Girl." Sinatra does a great job, but I have to close my eyes to fully appreciate it.

If this is solely a black man's song then somebody better tell its author, Jerome Kern about that. How possibly could he know anything about a black song? Of course Ella Fitzgerald , Judy Garland and Aretha Franklin are guilty singing this classic also. Don't you think it's stupid , bigoted and narrow minded to say a song belongs to a certain group? All songs belong to those can put feeling to them. That is not any different then an actor that plays somebody other then himself.

this is good, but the song has a better effect when the singer has a deeper voice.

With all due respect to Paul, I always find him stilted and overly formal. But that was his tradition of formal concert singing. Sinatra interpreted a song with a kind of jazz inspired sensibility. I like Gordon MacRae's version too. He acts out the boss man shouting orders as well as the dock worker's lament.
